Fake it until you make it.
With her fortieth birthday looming, Lisa Doyle wonders where things went wrong. Everyone from school is married with kids - or wallowing in the waters of a messy divorce.
Tired of feeling the online odd one out, Lisa invents a husband. And not just any husband … an astronaut in training who saves lives. Everyone lies online.
If only Helen could have announced her wedding sooner. And not begged Lisa to be matron of honour ... and organise the hen night ... for all those people dying to meet her new husband.
Does she brazen it out, or come clean?
It sets the scene for a year in the life of the armchair bride.

I thought this was entertaining. Lisa was a bit on the dramatic side at times but nothing extreme. She and some of the other characters reminded me of people I've known or even myself at times (maybe that says something about me and my friends...hmmm).The names do switch back and forth like the other reviewer mentioned - sometimes just a few paragraphs apart. If this was edited, the editor should be flogged.

The Armchair Bride A romantic comedy edition by Mo Fanning Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Lisa, the main character in The Armchair Bride is sometimes dramatic but she works in a theater, so no surprise. She was not a nice woman that came across as a goody type but a typical woman pushing forty that wants to find Mr. Right before it is too late. She has loyal friends, holds a good job and makes mistakes like everyone else; she also has a temper, says some things she regrets and is sorry for later, pretty much like a normal person.
As for the errors the other reviews mentioned, I did not see them so maybe they are fixed or I just read through them and my brain fixed them for me. The conversations in the story were very British (I being an American found some of them funny but could figure out what they meant easily.) I liked the book personally as it gave a good look into what it is like for everyday people living in England and how they are different from the folks where I live in the Deep South of the US.
This was one of those books that I literally had to force myself to finish. It wasn't funny, it was just ridiculous! It was just a bunch of poor, pitiful me and let's see how many of my family, friends and coworkers can I drag into this pity pit with me. And its really sad that the author couldn't keep her characters names right! Brian was Brain, Glen became Grant and Jenny became Janet and that's only thru the 1st half! Will not be reading anymore from this author.
This is not normally the sort of book that I thought I'd enjoy, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very light hearted and what I would call a good beach - read.
